Who are you, what's your business name and what state do you live in?
Hi! I’m Kristi Mayfield. Wife, mom, maker, and owner of Just Plain Punchy. I live in North East Oregon where I proudly create Western Onesies and Accessories.
Can you tell me the story behind why you started this business?
I love the western way of life and when pregnant I quickly noticed that the clothing selection for cow kids was bleak. I made a few onesies for my little and with the encouragement from friends and fellow ranch wives, I started creating for others as well.
What's the biggest challenge in your business?
I think the biggest challenge for my business is exposure. I created this business 11 years ago and have noticed a drastic change in marketing over the years. I personally find the create-post/social media balance hard to achieve.
Favorite order you've made?
A majority of my items are one of a kind but I’d have to say that just recently I have made a few Rompers that I’ve been really tempted to hang on to. Orders that ship to repeat customers will always be a favorite. I take great pride in the fact that customers keep coming back to me to outfit the littles in their life.
What motivates you?
I am self taught and love creating things. I kid that instant satisfaction drives me. When I sew, it allows me to step outside of my comfort zone and create the one-of-a-kind pieces that inspire me. I’m forever motivated when others share their enthusiasm for my work.
