My third interview and it's a goodie! Welcome to my Maker's Blog Mrs. Sam Johnson, who happens to be my nephew's wife! 2. Can you tell us the story behind your business?
Bookish Blaze Candles offers handpicked and hand poured candles that are themed from classic novels. Each candle is in a unique container based off the book. I love offering beautiful and fun home decor that adds beauty to any space. They make great gifts for loved ones or just for you, a must have for all book lovers!
It combines all my favorite things- making candles, thrifting and books!
I have several collections of different themed candles based off some of my all time favorite books. Some examples are: Chronicles of Narnia, Great Gatsby, Wind in the Willows, Little House on the Prairie, Secret Garden, Princess Bride and so much more!
3. What's the biggest challenge to your business?
Storing these candles in between markets! I'm always keeping my eye out for unique pieces when antiquing or thrifting. I am constantly making and adding new candles to my etsy shop.
4. Favorite order you made and why?
I always love finding the sweetest teacup sets that go perfectly in the Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland collections.
5. What motivates you?
Being creative! I love repurposing meaningful things. Going on a "treasure hunt" of sorts to find something special and then creating something new.
6. Are there any upcoming products, shows, drops you'd like to share?
Some of my favorite collections for fall are: Anne of Green Gables, Wind in the Willows and Harry Potter (of course!)
